I used to be employed at a institution of higher learning in western Pennsylvania. It was my belief that this institution attempted to keep salaries in pace with inflation.
I had noticed that my pay did not seem to keep up with inflation. So I gathered salary and raise information from the information that they had posted on the Internet.
I took the information and created charts that showed that, in general, most were not keeping up with the cost of living. I supplied these charts to the proper channels within the institution in the hope that the issue could be addresses. The issue was addressed be telling me that my services would no longer be needed.
